Coach Matt Rife

I began running in 1993 and raced 5K and 10K distances through the 90s. I set a goal to compete in a triathlon, but those plans got derailed when I broke my hip in a cycling crash. Work and family commitments took priority for the next few years, and I took more than a decade off from working out. In 2011 I was 40 years old, 220 pounds, and realized I needed to do something. I started going to the gym and slowly returned to running. I discovered trail running and bought a bike in early 2014. In July 2014 I completed my first duathlon. Over the past 11 years Iโ€™ve run dozens of races on trails and the road, and have ticked off a few more duathlons. Like most people, I have struggled with motivation, diet, and trying to find a balance between work, life, and exercise. Letโ€™s face it: most of us are not going to go out and break records. But consistent, moderate exercise is key to living a longer, healthier life. I decided to become a coach because I know that there are lots of people out there who just need a little guidance, support, and motivation to feel better and live healthier. So if youโ€™re looking for a knowledgable, experienced coach who will help you improve your fitness and stay motivated get in touch!
